Teatske turned 7 in February and she really wanted a princess party outside. Since it is not really pleasant in winter with thin princess dresses, we have moved the party to summer. And yesterday it was so far.
- Little notes for the names
Normally it is such a hassle with who gets to be first, who gives his present. And then it's done in 10 minutes. That while you would like to keep some peace. Usually quickly turns into chaos. I had already tried several methods, but this one I liked the most so far.
Fill the balloons with some confetti before blowing them up. I made a funnel out of paper to make it easier to get the confetti into the balloon. A small note with name then went folded in the balloon and the balloon could be inflated. Button in and string around it. I had hung the balloons on the lamp, but you can also choose to stretch a line. Our birthday boy pierced the balloons with a satay stick. She found it very exciting and scary. But in the end this was a successful experiment. Tip: put a cloth under the place of the balloons. That's where most of the junk falls. And you can take it away like that.
Every time a balloon was popped, a note with the name of the child who was allowed to give her presents fell on the floor. Every time exciting who. And they were equally sweet. Speaking of sweet, that was on the menu afterwards. Decorating cupcakes.
- Cupcakes or egg cakes
- sugar decoration
For a moment of peace I chose to decorate cupcakes and egg cakes. Beforehand I had filled two plates with a few bowls of icing sugar and 2 colors of Fondant (which I cut into slices first). The glaze needs 5 minutes in hot water to be liquid.
The ladies were very creative and soon the first unicorn cake was on the table. When they were decorated and sniffed it was time for games
Kiss the frog.
Donkey prick, but different. On the window I had drawn a large sheet with a frog on it after finding it on Pinterest.
The ladies took turns wearing red lipstick and blindfolds. Another was allowed to spin them around and on clues find the frog to kiss him on the mouth. They loved it.
Slipper no one say.
The same principle as laying a tissue with a small adjustment allowed the effect the amount of dye and sugar to come out for a while, so they don't fall into a sugar rush
And after that the ladies had had it with games. They danced to the music for a while and in the meantime I could paint one by one.
Unicorns, skulls like sugarskulls (dia de los muertos) and horses.
Once everyone was full of paint in a busy procession to the playground (further down the street from us). A group photo and then some good play.
Then I could clean up the mess and bake fries.
After eating fries, the party was over. All in the car with a candy bag.
A tiring but successful day.
Due to the law on privacy, I have not posted any photos (where the children are visible and recognizable) of the party.
